About Me

I teach Geography and Modern Studies at Scalloway Junior High School in the Shetland Isles, where I have taught since 1986. In 1996 I took part in a year long teacher exchange in Sydney, Australia. I was APT Guidance at Scalloway from 1988 to 2003, but I am now free to concentrate on my subject teaching and this CT programme.

I am married to Susan Brunton, and we have two children, Mhairi and John.

My interests include walking in Dunrossness and listening to New Order, Joy Division, The Smiths, The Ramones, Jackson Browne and Michael Nyman. My favourite authors are Iain Banks, Christopher Brookmyre, Julian Barnes and William Boyd.

I also spend far too long on the computer.
